Leading consulting group with a 360° approach
by Engineering News Record Northwest as one of 11 under 40 Top Young
Seattle based COWI Junior Bridge Engineer, Don Nguyen, has received another recognition – his third this year – from Engineering News Record Northwest (ENR Northwest). Earlier this year, Don was named one of ASCE's Top 10 Faces of Civil Engineering Professionals, as well as Young Engineer of the Year by Puget Sound Engineering Council (PSEC).
ENR Northwest judges entrants in the following categories: industry experience and education; career and industry leadership; and community service and involvement.
With a thirst and drive for knowledge, Don's experience, education and leadership is clearly demonstrable. As one of only a handful of people in the world accredited as an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP) and a Greenroads Sustainable Transportation Professional Level 2 (STP L2), Don is leading the way in sustainable practices at COWI.
Don also has a background steeped in volunteering and community service. He is currently the president-elect of ASCE's Seattle Younger Member Forum (YMF), an advisor for the Seattle YMF Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition, the Seattle section House and Hospitality Committee chair and a member of the Seattle YMF Scholarship Committee. Don recently volunteered as part of a COWI, American Bridge and Bridges to Prosperity team, to build a suspension bridge in the remote village of Seguidules, Panama. This project allowed Don to utilize his engineering knowledge and experience in a practical, hands-on way, and enabled him, as part of larger team, to have a positive impact on the local community. We are incredibly proud of Don's accomplishments and honored he's part of the COWI team. Congratulations Don.
